In James 5:14 the Bible states "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him....". As evident in this scripture, visiting the sick is a ministry that the first-century church was actively engaged in. To that end, the Blue Hill Church of Christ has established the Sick and Shut-in/Visitation Ministry. The purpose and goal of the ministry include ministering to our fellow Christian brothers and sisters during times of illness, including administering the Lord's Supper, praying, singing and fellow-shipping. In addition to ministering to the sick, the goal of this ministry is also to visit with and fellowship with the general membership to strengthen and encourage them. Encouraging one another as is taught in Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
