WHAT IS THE YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY?
Vision
The vision of the Young Adult Ministry at the Blue Hill Church Of Christ is designed to reach young adults of all ethnic backgrounds, encouraging them to share in God's Word, to offer themselves in service to Christ, and to care for one another.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Young Adult Ministry is to help gain an understanding of God's word and teachings as it applies in our lives. To cultivate and educate young adults, lead them to the fullness of the Faith and likeness of God; by utilizing the acts of Christian living, worship, fellowship, service, and witness, to be added to the Church enabling them to become a member of the body of Christ.
MINISTRY VS. ORGANIZATION
Young Adult Ministry is a ministry of the Church. It is not an organization or club, but simply a gathering of the faithful of the Church who share the same ages and common interests. It is a spiritual ministry, based on the theological teachings of the Church of Christ Christian Faith.
PARTICIPANT MEMBERS
Belonging to a Young Adult Ministry program depends solely on being a Christian. A young adult who participates is classified as a member —if they are a member of the Faith, they belong! That is, they are participants rather than members only. If a non-Christian wish to participate in the young adult program, we welcome them with open arms, offering ministries and resources to help guide them to becoming a Christian.
GUIDELINES VS. CONSTITUTION
Since the young adult program is a ministry and not an organization or club, guidelines exist rather than a constitution. The Young Adult Ministry offers these guidelines to inform and direct the faithful as to the purpose of Young Adult Ministry, stressing the four characteristics known as worship, fellowship, service, and witness.
WHO IT SERVES?
Young Adult Ministry ministers to young adults at Blue Hill Church of Christ, ages 18 to 35 years old. There appear to be two general groups within the Young Adult Ministry range, the college-aged group (18-25) and the career-aged group (25-35). Within these groups there can also be many more subsets: married, with children, graduate school, etc. Each individual in the Young Adult Ministry should strive to minister to all young adults in the community as they transition through their different life stages.
The Young Adult Ministry’s monthly meetings will be held on the last Saturday of each month from 6 pm- 8 pm. Which include an Order of Business and Program. Together we can make a difference!
